The Treasure Hill Golf Club Thailand: Everything You Need To Know About Golfing Here

Have you ever been to the Treasure Hill Golf Club in Thailand? If you’re planning of travelling to the Chonburi province of Thailand for a Pattaya golf holiday, then Treasure Hill Golf and Country Club should be on your list of must-visit golf courses. Let’s find out what golfers can expect at the fairways, and why this country club is a great destination that will provide you with very enjoyable days golfing if you visit there.

How To Reach The Treasure Hill Golf Club Thailand

The Treasure Hill Golf and Country Club is located in the heart of Chonburi, a province on the eastern side of the Gulf of Thailand. It’s approximately an hour’s drive from Pattaya city, one of the major tourist destinations in the province. It can be reached by taking Route 7 and Route 331 heading northeast from Pattaya city and taking a right upon reaching Khlong Kiu.

The Treasure Hill Golf Course Layout

Treasure Hill remains one of the popular golf clubs in the area and is frequented by many local golf enthusiasts, as well as travelers visiting the country on a golf holiday. Most golfers consider the very good layout at the Treasure Hill Golf and Country Club to be a real highlight of their experience. The golf course was designed by Yoshikazu Kato, the renowned Japanese architect who has done many other golf courses in Thailand such as the more famous Blue Canyon Country Club in Phuket. The 18-hole Treasure Hill golf course opened in 1994.

Water hazards are present, the greens are small, and the fairways are narrow, making this a good course if you’re looking for a challenging experience. Furthermore, the grass on the greens is often patchy, making it undulated and difficult to overcome. Several holes are deliberately designed as doglegs with no direct line of sight, further testing the accuracy of your shots from the tee.

Among the most interesting holes is hole 16, the one golfers call the ‘crocodile hole’. Don’t worry there are no actual crocodiles at this signature hole or the creek that runs nearby, although there is a large statue of one nearby. This is generally regarded as a par-5 level hole although very long hitters with experience may be able to manage this in less as long as they avoid the water nearby.

Apart from the golf course being in pretty good condition and offering a fair amount of challenge, the scenery at Treasure Hill Golf and Country Club is also worth seeing. Since the country club is located far from urban areas, the surroundings are both peaceful and pleasing to the eyes. There are no buildings to spoil this view like in other courses, with only mature trees bordering the fairways which you’ll notice at first glance. Beyond the treeline are hills and the surrounding jungle, making it a fine destination for golfers that are also nature lovers.
